Context and Challenges

Our client is a major European electricity and energy supply company.
Electricity, gas, nuclear, renewable energies, wind power, electric mobility, electric storage, etc.: This internationally renowned group supplies all of the electricity to its country and exports a part of its production to its neighboring countries, whether for individuals, companies or local authorities.

In order to improve its performance in the field of purchasing and supply, our client has decided to adopt a systematic approach to cost control instead of proceeding randomly.

This systematization requires significant manual work, and it was decided to automate accordingly with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and UiPath solution.

Our approach

To manage this implementation of cost control, we provided our client’s IT teams with technical support to develop and send the robots into production, according to the specificities of our customer’s business.
Our RPA (Robotic Process Automation) certified experts on UiPath helped to custom-design a unique solution, working on the following 3 aspects:

Conduct an audit business processes and scan all FTEs (full-time equivalent)
Propose technical solutions in order to harmonize the robotic scripts, create templates for formalizing RPA needs, and provide answers to technical questions
In addition to its technical contribution, contribute to build the support for the implementation of robots (evangelism)

Benefits

The realization of this cost control project with RPA enabled our client to benefit from the:

Increase of the control rate from 20% to 85% thanks to the automation of the reading of financial data and the comparison of data by robots
Implementation of a centralized infrastructure of automation and Shadow IT (interdepartmental comparative excel files, automation by API…) with automatic realization of the report of KPIs

Our client was thus able to drastically increase its control rate by avoiding any possible human error in this time-consuming and tedious work. The generation of automated reports also enabled them to benefit from reliable and centralised data.
