CSR Webinar: Understanding Climate Changes and Finding Avenues for Action

Environmental sustainability is one of the key goals of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. We want to raise awareness about the ecological, social, and economic issues that are a resulting from climate change and further reinforce it

Our coworkers are at the center of our CSR approach and embody this vision in the daily life of the company. We are fortunate to have Positive Thinkers who are themselves aware of the challenges of sustainable development and who volunteer to lead webinars and workshops to share their knowledge and skills.

Thus 3 Positive Thinkers, Vera Meinert (Positive Thinking Company Germany), Marleen Bornat (Positive Thinking Company Germany) and Maxime Spiess (Positive Thinking Company Belgium) organized and animated a webinar on climate change: “Understanding Climate Changes and Finding Avenues for Action”.

The webinar was inspired by the second report of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from February 2022 which makes clear that climate change is progressing faster than we had anticipated. Because the window for actions is closing fast, we wanted to identify the industries that are the largest drivers of climate change as well as the most impactful actions individuals can engage in to reduce their burden on the environment.

When it comes to individual climate action, people tend to focus on less effective actions. Recycling, for example, can quickly lead to fatigue and the feeling of sacrificing a lot without any visible change. We wanted to shed some light on this topic to help our colleagues integrate climate-friendly behaviour in their daily lives. We also emphasized that the political and the economic sector, especially the most polluting industries, must lead the way to achieve faster and more effective results.
